Randy graduated with honors from the University of Georgia in 1979, after earlier receiving summa cum laude honors from the same school, giving him the right to the title, “Double Dawg.” In his career, he served in a wide range of roles as corporate counsel for telecommunications and cable companies, ranging from representation of the now-endangered Yellow Pages to international and venture capital operations. He retired from Cox Communications in 2013 after representing the company as Privacy Counsel. He now serves as Adjunct Counsel at Emory University Law School, where he teaches Public Interest Practice in association with his spouse, Debbie Segal.
Randy is a member of the Georgia and Florida bars and has been active in the leadership of a number of professional organizations during his career. He is a life-long sailor with a resume longer than his professional one – a point he will proudly point out if you allow, though you would do so at the risk of hearing a few too many of his “yarns.”
He is also the author of several books of poetry and prose, which you can find on another page and through Amazon.
